Services

This is the most common type of massage therapy in the United States. It is also known as Swedish massage or simply massage therapy. Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing.

Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. The massage therapist may also hold stones and apply gentle pressure with them. The warmth is comforting. Hot stone massage is good for people who have muscle tension but prefer lighter massage.

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the connective tissue restrictions covering the muscles, helping to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury.

Neuromuscular/Trigger Point therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in the muscle. These areas of strain are called tender or trigger points and are the cause of muscular pain symptoms.

Infant Massage is a vital, dynamic interaction that forms the foundation of relationship building that will last a lifetime. Nurturing touch between a certified IMT and an infant enriches physiological, social-emotional, and mind/body/spirit connections for the infant being massaged, as well as for the parent.

The parent, therapist, or both can be giving the massage to baby.  This type of massage is for bonding between parent and baby but can also be helpful if given by the therapist for more in-depth issues.

To a child who has been hospitalized, or diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition, their symptoms are often accompanied by pain, anxiety, loneliness and fear. So it only makes sense that healthcare staff and medical facilities are looking to pediatric massage as treatment for some of these symptoms.

This healing touch therapy also provides comfort, relaxation, reduction of stress hormones and relief from chronic conditions such as asthma, nausea, constipation and muscle aches.

Also called prenatal massage, pregnancy massage is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Massage therapists who are certified in pregnancy massage know the proper way to position and support the woman’s body during the massage, and how to modify techniques.

Pregnancy massage is used to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to a woman’s individual needs.

The Bowen Technique is applying gentle pressure to the muscle tendon (where muscle inserts into bone).  The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on the tendons to perform Bowen’s unique set of rolling-type moves which stimulate the muscle release and improve nerve function along with other soft tissue of the body.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy is an exceptionally gentle yet extremely powerful form of treatment, increasingly recognized for the depth of its influence, the comprehensive range of its therapeutic effects, and its ability to resolve issues that are not helped by other means. It is a profound healing process which can release the deeply held patterns of disease – both physical and psychological – which accumulate throughout life as a result of injury and illness and become held in the body, which can lead  dysfunction.

Massage is one of many techniques that can help address the cause of TMJ disorders. Whether the pain comes from a jaw injury, arthritis, or simply the fatigue from repeatedly grinding or clenching your teeth, regular massage therapy can make a difference.

a Japanese practice that promotes healing, stress relief, increased energy levels, and personal development. During a session, one drops into a deep state of relaxation while receiving life force energy offered through the practitioners’ hands. If our life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress; and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Soma = body.  Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a form of therapy used to restore proper nervous system regulation to the body following traumatic life events that cause heightened arousal or freezing of the central nervous system. The premise is to reacquaint the client with their bodies through awareness of sensations felt inside the body.  There are many ways to do this, SE can be done off the table (face-to-face) or on the table too, depending on the client’s capacity and needs. Tell Me More

The body works to remove both environmental and substance toxins from our system.  This is done at the cellular level and bypasses the gastrointestinal system.  It is gentle, pain-free, and takes about 35 minutes.

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a form of therapy used to restore proper nervous system regulation to the body following traumatic life events that cause either heightened arousal or freezing of the central nervous system. The process allows the client to “tune into’ their body through various techniques so that the physical reactions to the trauma can be resolved. SE can be a stand-alone therapy or done in combination with bodywork on the table. Beth is a certified SE practitioner and is excited to share the benefits of the therapy with her clients. I’ve been suffering with severe pain in my neck, back, and legs for many years. After I discovered Jamie at Sanctuary of Integration Wellness Center and tried the hot stone massage, I walked out with no pain! It lasted several weeks. I have never had any other treatment that took my pain away for that amount of time. I feel I benefited from the session because of her knowledge, experience, eagerness, and compassion to help heal my pain- it was amazing! I’m so impressed with these treatments and all of her services; I would enthusiastically recommend her to others!
